1. General & Trial Process
1. How does TuitionPedia work?
TuitionPedia connects students worldwide with background-verified 1-on-1 online tutors. You share your academic requirements (grade, subject, curriculum, time zone), we match you with a specialized tutor, and you attend a 100% free live demo session before confirming regular weekly classes.
2. Is the trial live demo session completely free?
Yes, the 1-on-1 demo session is 100% free with zero financial obligation. It allows you and your child to evaluate the tutor's subject expertise, technology setup, and teaching rapport before enrolling.
3. How long does it take to match us with a tutor?
In most cases, our academic advisory team matches you with a qualified tutor and schedules your free trial demo within 24 to 48 hours of receiving your requirement form.
2. Tutor Qualifications & Quality
4. How are TuitionPedia tutors screened and verified?
All tutors undergo a rigorous multi-stage selection process including subject matter testing, mock teaching demonstrations, background verification, and training in online interactive whiteboards and board-specific mark schemes.
5. Can we request a tutor replacement if we aren't satisfied?
Yes, absolutely. If at any point you feel the assigned tutor's teaching pace or style isn't the right fit, simply inform our academic coordinator and we will arrange a free replacement tutor immediately.
6. Will my child have the same tutor for all regular sessions?
Yes. We assign a dedicated personal tutor for each subject so your child builds strong rapport, consistent learning routines, and continuous progress tracking over time.
3. Curricula & Exam Boards
7. Which international school curricula do you cover?
We cover US Common Core & AP Courses, UK National Curriculum (GCSE, IGCSE, A-Levels — AQA, Edexcel, OCR, CIE), IB MYP & IB Diploma (HL/SL), Canadian Provincial (Ontario OSSD, BC, Alberta), Australian Curriculum (HSC, VCE, QCE, WACE, NAPLAN), CBSE, ICSE, and test prep (SAT, ACT, 11+, IIT-JEE, NEET).
8. Do your tutors help with school homework, assignments, and Internal Assessments (IAs)?
Yes! Tutors provide guided support on school assignments, lab report structures, IB Internal Assessments (IAs), and AP/GCSE topic revisions without replacing the student's independent effort.
9. Do you offer Indian diaspora courses like Spoken Hindi, Punjabi, or CBSE?
Yes, we support many NRI families across the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and UAE with complete CBSE/ICSE board tuition, Spoken Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Sanskrit, Vedic Maths, and IIT-JEE/NEET foundation prep.
4. Scheduling & Time Zones
10. How do class timings work across different international time zones?
All classes are scheduled directly according to your local time zone (EST, CST, PST, GMT, BST, GST, AEST, AWST, IST, etc.). We offer popular after-school slots (4:00 PM – 9:00 PM local time) as well as morning and afternoon weekend slots.
11. What happens if we need to reschedule a class?
We offer flexible rescheduling with at least 12–24 hours advance notice to the tutor or academic coordinator so class hours are preserved without penalty.
5. Pricing & Payments
12. How much does 1-on-1 online tuition cost?
Our tuition fees depend on the student's grade level, subject complexity (e.g., Primary vs AP/A-Levels/IB Diploma), and weekly class frequency. We offer highly competitive local currency rates (USD, GBP, CAD, AUD, AED, INR) with zero long-term lock-ins.
13. Are there long-term contracts or lock-in periods?
No. We operate on flexible month-to-month plans. You can adjust frequency, pause lessons during school vacations, or add extra sessions during exam periods as needed.
6. Technical Setup & Tools
14. What technical equipment does my child need for online classes?
All that is required is a computer/laptop or tablet with a stable internet connection, a webcam, and headphones. A graphic pen tablet or touchscreen is recommended for advanced math/science problem solving.
15. Are live classes recorded for revision?
Yes, live sessions are recorded and archived along with digital whiteboard PDF notes.
